The working ledger for a family of Minecraft projects about making the Nether a place to live, explore, fish, build, and find things.
Status at 17 July 2026: the source audit is complete and Java 26.2 is the working target. The existing code and assets have not yet been refactored for the current syntax.

Direction
NetherWorld is one principal datapack, centered on Nether Fishing. Nether Pouches belong to that identity: the art, recipes, and Nether-native material logic are intentional authorship, not a workaround waiting for Mojang to make ordinary bundles usable. Modern bundle support may make their implementation easier; it does not make the Pouches creatively optional.
The intended NetherWorld pack includes Nether Fishing, the structure work, Nether spawning, and Nether iron and copper deposits. The buckets and Nether Crafting Table remain part of the wider family. Softer Silk Touch remains a companion project and the second favorite.
Infernal Fishing Lite does not return as a maintained edition. It split attention between two experiential targets and duplicated the most decision-heavy work. Its useful ideas remain available to the one Nether Fishing design.
The NBT recovery problem
The exports survive; some of the structure graph does not. An NBT file preserves one structure piece, not its complete development context. The surviving evidence includes block data, connectors, pools, processors, filenames, screenshots, and older counterparts.
Inventory
57 exported structures: 16 in the newest Infernal Fishing branch, 27 in Warped Structures, seven Nether Iron deposits, and seven test pieces. The largest twisted-tree and fort origins are 47×48×47 blocks and each records roughly 37,000 block positions. Their jigsaw connectors survive.
Complete graph
The older Warped Structures graph resolves 39 of 39 references. It contains forts, outposts, portal houses, and reusable rooms.
Partial graph
The newer Infernal Fishing graph resolves 15 of 41 references. It names 26 absent pieces. Ten missing fort-room references appear to have older Warped counterparts; the other 16 must be found under changed names, reconstructed, replaced, or pruned.
Missing context
Individual NBT pieces do not preserve unfinished or unexported work, their original spatial relationships, terrain and biome context, test iterations, or which assemblies were considered successful.
The modern Minecraft landscape
The maintained sources target the 1.20.2-era pack format 18. Several later changes are real migrations, but many also make the eventual codebase cleaner:
1.20.5: item tag data became item components. Custom names, model data, food, enchantments, fire resistance, recipes, and loot outputs need translation.
1.21: datapack registry directories became singular and enchantments became data-driven. Enchantment effects can run functions and directly influence fishing luck and bite time.
1.21.2: bundles became standard with sixteen dyed variants, and the projectile-spawn enchantment trigger gained fishing-rod support. These are useful implementation tools for Pouches and lava fishing, not replacements for their authored design.
1.21.4: item models moved to explicit client item definitions selected by an item-model component. The existing model overrides therefore require a syntax translation.
1.21.9 onward: packs gained explicit minimum and maximum compatible formats. Java 26.2 is the current stable target for this audit, using datapack format 107.1 and resource-pack format 88.0.
The old GitHub tree and Planet Minecraft pages are reference material, not statements of current compatibility. The release pages document the 1.20-era mechanics and artwork; the Infernal Fishing gallery predates the later structure experiments. This dashboard records the current source inventory, migration status, stated decisions, and known limitations.
